![]() You gotta love these sheep in the winter time. "Teasel", one of our Romney/Coopworth crosses, demonstrates the fine art of eating hay......and also why all that wool needs to be covered! Five more weeks and we will be shearing.

Hi to a fellow ACR member! This picture looks much like one I put up on my facebook/heartsofthemeadow page and we stated just about the same fact: the reason why we put coats on our Coopworth sheep! The difference is outstanding in the fiber. The difference is so outstanding that for the past few years, some raw fleece contests (Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival for one) has you mark on your entrance application if you cover your sheep - I guess the people that do not may think that there must be a separation?

Sheep are really gentle animals. You never hear about any sheep hurting anyone. They don't bite. I don't think they ever get angry unless it's mating season or something. I wonder how they feel when we use them to keep ourselves warm. Maybe they are honored. I wish they would be taken away from the meat list. I think they can be great pets.
