Registered Coopworth Breeding Stock
Each year we have a few superior lambs for sale, and sometimes yearlings and somewhat older ewes as well. All of our Coopworths are registered in the American Coopworth Registry, and we maintain a strong system of record-keeping to assist us in adhering to the standards for appearance and fleeces as established by the Registry.
In choosing our own replacement stock, we are attentive to daily weight gains (we weigh our lambs at 30, 60, 90, and 120 days of age) as well as fleece characteristics. We are happy to share these records with prospective buyers.
In our breeding program, we build on the strengths and advantages of Coopworths as a dual-purpose breed by selecting for quality of fleece, growthiness of lambs, prolificacy, mothering ability, and confirmation.
This current year (2022) we utilized 4 different rams, giving us the opportunity to sell starter breeding flocks.
The majority of our lambs are born in April. We have many white and natural-colored lambs that will be available this summer.
